Memorable Moments – Janet Varney

Living in Los Angeles and working in the industry, it can become easy to begin to think of artistic endeavors through the lens of how they tie into the business, or commerce, of LA. Being given the gift of participating in YSF literally strips away all of the noise, the challenges, or the complexities of commodification and takes writing and performing back to a pure, unbridled, creative celebration of one of the best things that makes us human: our imaginations. Watching the kids bring their ideas and dreams to life, and having the honor to help facilitate that process in any way is one of the best experiences anyone could have. I’m so incredibly impressed by all of the young artists, as well as in the program itself.
