For the fourth consecutive year, Young Storytellers received a generous grant from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in support of the Script to Stage Program.

Former LAUSD student Ice Cube and his son O’Shea Jackson accepted the award on behalf of the Young Storytellers. And during the course of the evening, celebrities like Lady Gaga, Jake Gyllenhaal, Bryan Cranston, Jon Hamm, Jane Fonda, America Ferrera, Benicio Del Toro, Jamie Lee Curtis, Halle Berry, Sarah Silverman and many more accepted checks from the HFPA for initiatives that included higher education, film preservation, training and mentoring, and the promotion of cultural exchange. By the time the final curtain bowed, over two million dollars had been given away to entertainment-related charities. Other grantees included our esteemed partners and friends at American Film Institute, Inner-City Arts, Young Musician’s Foundation, Sundance Institute, Ghetto Film School, OUTFEST, among others.
